Terms of sale
The rules of buying at PLAyful Prints: made to order, the photographs you upload, prices, payment, delivery, defects and product safety.
1. Introduction
These Terms of sale govern purchases in the PLAyful Prints web shop (playfulprints.eu), operated by dD Tech, obrt za proizvodnju i usluge, owner Damir Druško, Vrtna ulica 24, 42202 Trnovec Bartolovečki, Croatia, OIB 60172908285, MBO 99036231 (the Seller).
By buying a product the customer confirms having read and accepted these Terms. The Terms that apply to an order are those published at the moment the order is sent; later changes do not alter contracts already concluded.
These Terms apply to buying in the web shop, which is intended for consumers — natural persons buying outside their trade or profession.
Business customers (B2B) do not order through the web shop. Send an enquiry to b2b@playfulprints.eu; we answer with a quotation, issue an e-invoice, and payment goes directly to the business bank account, not through Stripe. Such orders are governed by the terms in the quotation.
2. Products are made to order and to the customer's specification
The Seller keeps no stock of finished products. Every ordered item is 3D printed only after the order has been received and paid, following the photograph, text and options the customer chose in the configurator.
This means every product is made to the consumer's specification and clearly personalised within the meaning of Article 86, paragraph 1, item 3 of the Consumer Protection Act — see chapter 8.
3. Photographs and content uploaded by the customer
This chapter matters to both sides, so please read it in full.
3.1. The customer warrants the right to use the uploaded photograph. By sending a photograph the customer expressly warrants that:
- they hold the copyright in the photograph or have the rightholder's permission,
- they have the consent of every person recognisable in the photograph, and for minors the consent of a parent or legal guardian,
- the photograph does not infringe the rights of third parties (copyright, right to one's own image, trade mark, right to privacy).
3.2. Liability. The Seller does not check and cannot check who took the photograph or who appears in it. The customer alone is liable for any infringement of third-party rights caused by an uploaded photograph and undertakes to indemnify the Seller for any damage, cost or third-party claim arising from such infringement.
3.3. Content we do not accept. The Seller reserves the right to refuse an order and cancel it with a full refund of the amount paid, without an obligation to explain the details, if the uploaded content:
- is unlawful, or depicts violence, hatred or discrimination,
- depicts nudity or sexually explicit material,
- depicts a minor in an inappropriate way,
- infringes third-party copyright or a trade mark,
- is a false depiction of a real person, including material generated by artificial intelligence.
3.4. The quality of the photograph decides the quality of the product. A lithophane is a photograph translated into the thickness of the material. A blurred, dark, very small or heavily edited photograph gives a poor result, and that is not a defect of the product but a consequence of the source. Our recommendations — a sharp photograph, good light, sufficient size and the aspect ratio stated with the product — are shown next to the configurator. If we judge that a photograph will not give a good result, we get in touch before printing.
3.5. Retention. Uploaded photographs are kept only for as long as production and a reasonable complaint period last, after which they are deleted — see the Privacy statement.
4. Prices
All prices are shown in euros (EUR). The Seller is not registered for VAT pursuant to Article 90, paragraph 1 of the VAT Act, so VAT is not charged; the prices shown are final.
The product price does not include the delivery cost, which is shown separately and is visible at checkout before the order is confirmed. The total amount to be charged is shown before confirmation.
5. The order and the conclusion of the contract
- The customer builds the product in the configurator, adds it to the cart and enters the delivery details at checkout.
- Before confirming, the customer sees the total including delivery and must confirm having read the notice that there is no right of withdrawal (chapter 8).
- The order is sent by pressing the „Order with obligation to pay" button.
- The customer is redirected to Stripe and pays by card.
- The contract is concluded and the order confirmed when the payment is confirmed, of which the customer receives an e-mail with the order number.
Production does not begin before the payment is confirmed.
6. Payment
Payment is made by card only, through Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., Ireland). Card details are entered on Stripe's page; the Seller neither sees nor stores the card number.
Cards supported by Stripe for payments in euros are accepted. We do not accept other payment methods — cash, cash on delivery or bank transfer against a quotation.
If the payment fails or the customer abandons it on Stripe's page, the order stays unpaid and can be paid again from the link in the confirmation; after 7 days an unpaid order is cancelled.
We issue and fiscalise an invoice for every transaction and send it by e-mail. Details: Payment and invoices.
7. Delivery and deadlines
The customer chooses one of two methods:
- BoxNow parcel locker within the Republic of Croatia. The price depends on the compartment size the order requires and is 3 €, 4 € or 8 €; the exact amount is shown at checkout before confirmation.
- Personal collection — free of charge, at Vrtna ulica 24, 42202 Trnovec Bartolovečki, by prior arrangement. We get in touch as soon as the product is ready.
Delivery is free for orders whose goods value is 35 € or more. The threshold is calculated on the value of the goods, without the delivery cost.
Delivery abroad is not possible at the moment. When we introduce it, prices and deadlines will be stated on the Delivery and deadlines page before the option appears at checkout.
- Production: 3–7 working days from the confirmed payment.
- Delivery: 1–3 working days from handing the parcel to the carrier.
- In total: the delivery period is in no case longer than 30 days from the conclusion of the contract (Consumer Protection Act). If we cannot keep it, we contact the customer, who may terminate the contract with a full refund.
When we hand the parcel to the carrier, the customer receives an e-mail with the tracking number, and the carrier sends the collection code by SMS — this is why the mobile number is a required detail. The collection period at the locker is set by the carrier; an uncollected parcel is returned to us, and sending it again is charged according to the delivery price list.
8. There is no right of withdrawal
Every product in this shop is made to order and to the customer's specification. For that reason the customer has no right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days, pursuant to Article 86, paragraph 1, item 3 of the Consumer Protection Act (goods made to the consumer's specification or clearly personalised).
The customer must expressly confirm this notice at checkout before sending the order.
This does not exclude the Seller's liability for material defects — see chapter 9. No text in these Terms may be read as excluding or limiting consumer rights arising from the law.
9. Material defects and complaints
The Seller is liable for material defects of the product under the Obligations Act and the Consumer Protection Act.
A material defect is, for example: the product arrived broken or damaged, the print is faulty (layers separating, holes in the wall, deformation), the product does not match the ordered variant, or the wrong product was delivered.
Procedure: the customer sends a written complaint to hello@playfulprints.eu with the order number and photographs of the defect, and if possible a photograph of the parcel. We reply within 15 days. If the complaint is justified, we remake and send the product at our own cost, or refund the amount paid — as agreed with the customer. The full procedure: Complaints.
Damage in transit: if the compartment or the parcel is visibly damaged, please photograph it before opening and let us know as soon as possible.
10. What is not a defect — deviations inherent to 3D printing
We print products layer by layer, each piece separately. The following is a property of the technology, not a defect:
- visible layer lines and a slight texture on the surface,
- minor deviations in colour shade between material batches,
- the difference between the lit and the unlit product — a lithophane is a relief that only becomes visible when light passes through it, and unlit it looks like a milky surface,
- minor deviations in dimensions within the usual tolerances of 3D printing,
- a difference from the view in the configurator — that view is a computer illustration of the appearance, not a photograph of the individual item, as stated next to every view.
11. Product safety and assembly
The product is not a toy and is not intended for children. It is decorative and lighting equipment for use under adult supervision.
The LED light and the remote control are supplied in the manufacturer's original packaging, with the manufacturer's declaration, markings and warnings. The customer fits them into the product following the manufacturer's instructions. The Seller does not install, repack or modify them; their properties are the responsibility of the manufacturer named on their packaging.
We warn the customer that:
- the remote control contains a button cell battery. Swallowing a button cell is life-threatening. Keep the remote and the battery out of the reach of children; if swallowing is suspected, seek emergency medical help immediately,
- the product and its small parts must be kept out of the reach of children under 3 years of age,
- the product must not be exposed to temperatures above 50 °C (the material is PLA and starts to deform above that), to prolonged direct sunlight or to moisture — do not leave it in a car in summer or near a heat source,
- the product is not for outdoor use and is not waterproof,
- the product must not be taken apart or modified; a damaged product must not be used,
- used batteries and old electronic equipment must be disposed of separately from household waste.
12. Intellectual property in the products
The models, shapes and ready-made motifs in our range are the property of the Seller. By buying a product the customer acquires ownership of the item, not rights in the model — further reproduction, copying of the model or commercial resale are not allowed without written permission.
13. Force majeure and limitation of liability
The Seller is not liable for delay or failure to deliver caused by circumstances beyond reasonable control (equipment failure, interruption of material or power supply, carrier delay, measures of state authorities, natural disasters). In such a case we contact the customer and agree a new deadline or termination with a refund.
The Seller's liability for damage is limited to the amount paid for the specific order, except for damage that the law does not allow to be limited (intent, gross negligence, damage to health, liability for a defective product).
14. Protection of personal data
We process personal data solely to carry out the order and delivery and to meet legal obligations. Details are in the Privacy statement, and the list of cookies is on the Cookies page.
15. Changes, governing law and disputes
The Seller reserves the right to change these Terms; changes apply from publication and do not apply to contracts already concluded.
These Terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Croatia. We try to settle disputes by agreement; a consumer may turn to the bodies for alternative resolution of consumer disputes listed in the Legal notice. For disputes not settled amicably, the competent court in Varaždin has jurisdiction.
